“Women, keep your mouths SHUT”: the Bible !!

By Sami Zaatari

Christians are so fond of criticizing Islam’s position towards women, claiming that Christianity offers women freedom, respect, and equality. In fact Christian women in the west are often fond of claiming they have a right to say what they feel, and a right to teach, and a right to basically speak, and if Muslims have a problem with this then we should leave or whatever.

Firstly, Muslims do not have a problem if a lady wants to speak her mind, or teach, or even speak! No, we have no problems with this, however so, the Bible has a problem with this! The false apostle Paul has a problem with this! The other false apostle Timothy also has a problem with this! It seems that Christians do not know their Bible, but that is not a problem as I am here to help out, and I shall teach you your own Bible.

So let us first see what Paul said in regards to women:

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.  35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)

So notice what Paul says, he first says Christian women have NO RIGHT to even open their mouths in a Church, they cant speak at all, they should keep silent. Secondly, Paul even says women should only ask questions in the HOUSE, to get the answers from their husbands! Basically women aren’t allowed to have education! And last but not least, Paul says it’s a SHAME for women to speak in a Church. Tell me, why is it a shame for women to speak in a Church? Is it because they are inferior? Is it because they are females?

Any honest open minded person will see these verses are anti-women and show what a sexist anti-women faith Christianity is!

It does not end there though, it gets even worse, let us read what Timothy had to say:

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.  12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence (1 Timothy 2:11-12)

So Timothy says women should learn in SILENCE, and subjection, which basically means a lady must learn things at the house by her husband as Paul stated in 1 Corinthians chapter 14. Timothy goes even further though, he says woman aren’t allowed to teach! Or hold authority over men, and that they should remain silent. So basically in Christianity a lady is not allowed to teach anyone!

So to Christian women, why do you always come telling Muslims you have a right to speak and so on? It is not the Muslims saying you can’t, it’s your own Bible, so who are you kidding? It shows how ignorant you are of your own book, but now you know what your book says, what will you do with these passages? If you believe these passages then keep your mouths shut as Paul says, if you reject these passages then throw the Bible away, it is as simple as that. There is one final choice, turn to Islam, where women DO have a right to teach and speak, even allowed to teach men! The choice is yours.

And Allah Knows Best!

Salams you know im glad I read this today as i got so tired of seeing all the Anti-Islamic stuff and I am glad that you atleast show judgememt and provide a justified discussion without reverting to slurring, name calling etc.

If you are going to teach the Bible, Nora, you really should do a little more study. Look at the history and context of the writings.

Teaching and speaking depends on the context. Why did Paul want women to be silent? What was the usual practice in synagogues? What was the standard social etiquette in Greek society? One interpretation is that women were receiving education just like the men in the Scriptures, and they were talking and interrupting in the service.

I’m sorry to say, most of your material – in the whole blog – shows flaws in analysis and interpretation; for example, erroneously thinking that Timothy wrote 1 and 2 Timothy.

I don’t know what situation you are in, but you’re falling into the tu quoque argument: if Christians are saying Islam is unfair to women in whatever way, then accusing Christians of the same thing doesn’t build friendship or respect or understanding.

There are so many different sects or groups of Christianity and Islam that we can’t assume that all people believe the same thing. I don’t know what you think about the Ahmiddyas (I’m sure the spelling is wrong, but you know what I mean); whether you consider them a sect of Islam or as heretics. It’s similar with Christians and Mormons.

“I don’t know what situation you are in, but you’re falling into the tu quoque argument: if Christians are saying Islam is unfair to women in whatever way, then accusing Christians of the same thing doesn’t build friendship or respect or understanding.”

Brother Troy, please don’t get me wrong, I don’t want you to think that this blog meant to be antichristian, of course not, and I don’t want to offend you or being disrespect.
I don’t know, you maybe didn’t read what Christians had written against Islam and Muslims.. you should not hear from one side, and then say “yeah Nora, you’re attacking Christianity” for example..
These articles are just refutations to those people who love to make fun of Islam, insult, criticize et cetera.
So, tell me what should I do other than defending Islam first, then pointing the same accusation to them because it’s found in their own bible?!
Do you know that every argument thrown against Islam can be easily thrown back against Christianity !!
For example, they always say that Muhammed can’t be a prophet of God, because he fought against the pagans or whatever, but if one looked at the bible, one will find the same thing with the other prophets.
And also they say that Muhammed has more than 4 wives, therefore he can’t be a prophet, so what about King Solomon who had 700 wives ?!
So why do you attack Islam for something found in your own bible, this is double standard !!
Please, if you want to judge us, judge us according to your bible.
    God bless you,

The problem is not with your rules. The problem is with your wrong sets of beliefs. I agree, people should NOT for any reason be making fun or ridiculing your religion. Those that do are ignorant , I dare say not true Christians. Ridicule is not love, 1 John 2 ” 9Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.” Ridicule is hate, and those that are not living in the light are not “Christians” Those ridiculing are not Christians, they are people who may believe in God, who may even believe in Jesus BUT they are not Christians In james it states ” 19You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. ” Please forgive these people for their hatred but please do not lump them together with true Believers in Christ.
