Is God Triune?

Trinitarian Christians believe God is 3 in one, 3 persons making up the complete Godhead, they claim God is ‘triune’. However so there are quite a few problems with this doctrine, for starters the word Trinity is not mentioned once in the entire Bible! Isn’t that interesting? That this main doctrine for a large group of Christians is not even mentioned one time? It could have been very easy for Jesus to have said Trinity, or his followers to have done likewise, but this never occurred once.

Now Christians admit the word Trinity isn’t in the Bible, but they claim its teaching is, which is not true at all! As I said, Trinity believes in a triune God, that God is 3 in one, yet this teaching and doctrine is not in the Bible neither! Rather let us see what the doctrine is:

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.  (From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 6:4)”

Notice the verse says that God is ONE, it does not say God is three in one, or that God is triune, it says ONE, and obviously triune and being one are two different things, Moses could have easily said God is triune, or God is three in one, yet he says God is ONE.

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  (From the NIV Bible, Mark 12:29)”

Here we have Jesus saying the Lord is One, again why did not Jesus say God is triune, or God is three in one! This doctrine of Trinity is missing yet again. It would have been very easy for Jesus to have said God is triune, or three in one, again just like Moses, he said no such thing. This all makes it crystal clear, there is no such thing as a Trinity, no prophet taught this doctrine, it is a simple man made up doctrine which has nothing to do with God!

And finally let us end this article with what the Quran said:

“Say: He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.  (The Noble Quran, 112:1-4)”

You make the choice, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad all brought down a message saying God is one, none of them said Trinity, or God is triune, so you make the choice, which one is the odd one out?

And Allah Knows Best!

    Hi Nora,

there’s a post you might find interesting. I certainly did!

I don’t speak or read Arabic, so I don’t know about the Qur’an (although I have read it in English) but in Deuteronomy 6:4, the word for ‘one’ is ‘echad’, which can mean a composite unity. Examples are Genesis 2:24 – ‘bosor echad’ (one flesh) – and Numbers 13:23 – ‘eshcol echad’ (one bunch/ cluster).

Whatever the Trinity doctrine is, it certainly isn’t simple! How can Jesus be deity (son of God, fyi, refers to Jesus being God’s chosen king, not that he is God’s literal child: the Father-Son metaphor is adoptive language)… er, where was I? Oh yes, How can Jesus be deity if there is only one God, whom we equate with the Father, and yet Jesus has all the nature and attributes of deity – and so on. Yet they aren’t three gods, but one God. Likewise, they aren’t one Person, but three. Simple? If you want someone to believe a religion, you give them doctrines that are easy to grasp, like “be excellent to each other”.

I suppose you’ve heard the most common arguments, like people altered the Biblical texts et cetera. Textual criticism shows they are reliable however.

fyi, the Jesus-“Son of God”-King article is here:

    Hi TG,
“Yet they aren’t three gods, but one God. Likewise, they aren’t one Person, but three. SIMPLE?!”

I know for sure that westerns love logic, so why don’t you use logic with this statement?! It doesn’t make any sense, three is three, and one is one, 1+1+1=3, I’m sorry, many people can’t understand this doctrine, but obviously Christians throw logic away when it comes to the bible !!

when one studies what Christianity is, and what it teaches, one will find many similarities in the core beliefs between pagans beliefs and Christianity.

Anyway, back to the subject, Why should I believe that Jesus is God when he never proclaimed that, never said “I’m God, worship me” not even a once, coincidence?! I think not.
If Jesus was God, then why in Mark 10:18 Jesus said :
“And Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call me good? NO ONE IS GOOD BUT GOD ALONE.”?
So Jesus said that only God is good, so if Jesus is God, why did he deny being good?! I thought he said “God is good” , and the Christianity believe that Jesus is God, so he also must be good.
he didn’t say the FATHER ALONE ?! but he said GOD ALONE ?! so that means (according to the Christians) the father, the son, and the holy spirit are all good, but Jesus made it crystal clear that he is not good, so he is not God because he is not good, simple.
So again why did Jesus deny being good ?! because he wanted to assure you that he’s not God.

in Numbers 23:19 says: ” God is NOT A MAN”.
If you want us to believe Jesus is a God, why God said “God is not a man”?!
So did God change his mind and became man ?!

With all due respect to Christianity, but some of its beliefs don’t make any trinity, original sin, die for my sins. Because Islam tells us otherwise, for examples God is one, everyone is born pure but we are the one who corrupt ourselves…etc, and also I don’t need anyone to die for my sins to enter the paradise, and the bible also agrees with Islam
    Deuteronomy 24:16
16 Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; EACH IS TO DIE FOR HIS OWN SIN.
So the bible makes it crystal clear that no one will carry the sin of others..

And about the bible, yes the bible had been corrupt and the original manuscripts had been lost, and the authors of the bible are unknown, and it is full of contradictions, I’m sorry man, and who said that ?! the historians.. you don’t believe me?! Google it , and you’ll see it yourselves.

Btw, I did read your topic about’s very interesting, God bless.
May God guide us if Christianity be the truth. Amen. May God guide us if Islam be the truth. Amen.

    Hi Nora,

As you say, let the true God guide us. And for logic, I am very logical. Lots of westerners aren’t: look at much of postmodernism, which in its extreme form says you can believe that black is white and that’s ok. That is not good, to say the least.

What I meant about the Trinity being simple (I was using a reference in your blog) is that it is not; hence the question mark: “simple?!” i.e. this doctrine seems weird and not something someone would make up if they wanted people to believe them. It is beyond our understanding, but it doesn’t contradict our understanding – the closest I can get is the chord or the brick analogies.

    As for 1 + 1 + 1, what about 1 x 1 x 1?! 😉

Jesus didn’t say he wasn’t good; he asked the man “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.” He neither denied his goodness nor his deity. It’s an assumption that he did.

As for the historians … anyone can publish anything, especially online. As for the contradictions … most of them are easily resolved with an understanding of the context. There are many reputable historians who assert the accuracy of the Bible. Our knowledge of the Bible’s accuracy can be seen through literary tests – internal evidence, external evidence and bibliographical – show that the Bible as we have it today is about 98% of what it was back then.

Compare the Dead Sea Scrolls – found in 1948, written in about BC 100 I think – with the Massoretic text of the Old Testament, the earliest copies of which are about AD 900. There isn’t much different, except perhaps for Isaiah. Also knowledge or ignorance of the human author doesn’t mean it isn’t inspired.

Finally, if the Bible is corrupted, you are using it a lot in service of your points: how do you know which bits are corrupted? And if you know they’re corrupted, surely we can discover the right meanings?
It’s interesting how we have to rely on so much of other people’s work isn’t it: if we had to do it all ourselves, our knowledge would be much smaller. I always try to get first-hand evidence but of course it isn’t always possible.

May the true God bless us both with a knowledge of Him that leads to salvation.

  4. Nora's Sensation Says:

    Hi TG,

How can people believe in the trinity if they don’t understand it? If we don’t need to understand the trinity and we need to just believe, then why did God give us a brain?

If God is three in one.. Why did god tell the Jews he’s one, then change his mind 1000 years later tell Christians he’s a trinity?

Oh, yeah there’s a lot of questions that doesn’t make any sense!!

This doctrine makes people get confused, and God said in the bible he is not the author of confusion!!

Jesus is denying that he is good in the sense that God is good. This is because Jesus is denying the claim of him being God to a common person who has the mis-guided belief that he is God, the same with many others. As for the entire NT, the NT does not claim Jesus is God, quite the opposite, it shows that Jesus is no more than a prophet, and denies being God

Read these verses from the Quran:
And they say: “The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son [‘Īsā (Christ) A.S.], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)].” (88) Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing. (89) Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, (90) That they ascribe a son (or offspring or children) to the Most Gracious (Allah). (91) But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Gracious (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). (92) There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious (Allah) as A SLAVE.

And about the bible, there are many Chronological Contradictions !! see this like :
And also there are TWENTY-TWO books mentioned in the Bible, but not included in the today’s bible?!!
how can I trust this book?!

We believe in the bible and quote from it, because Christians believe in it ,we don’t have to believe in it, but we quote from it, because the text still reads, and even of its corruption, still proves that Jesus isn’t you Christians, you believe the Quran is not from God and you still quote from it , and use it against us.

Btw, Muslims believe in Jesus peace be upon him as a prophet sent from God like the other prophets ?!

May God guide us both to right path, and keep us on it..Amen..

  5. TroyG Says:

You’re assuming that because a book is mentioned, it should be in the Bible. Also that we must understand something to believe it.

Why should we, fallen and finite people, be expected to understand an infinite God? God has given us enough to understand but requires us to trust Him: Hence the need for faith. Adam and Eve rejected God’s word – unbelief, lack of faith – in the Garden when they ate the fruit. On the contrary Jesus, on earth, lived a perfect life – that is, he lived in perfect dependence and faith in God.
